Terms of Service

What this service does

Give It Smaller is an online file compression tool. You upload files, we compress them, and you download the smaller versions. The service is currently in early access and may change over time.

Acceptable use

You may use this service for lawful purposes only. You agree not to upload:

• Malware, viruses, or other harmful files
• Content that infringes on someone else's intellectual property
• Illegal content of any kind

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service to anyone who misuses it.

Your files

You retain full ownership of any files you upload. We do not claim any rights over your content. Files are processed only to produce the results you ask for. Uploads are deleted automatically after 3 days, and results about 30 days after processing. We do not share your files.

Service availability

We aim to keep the service running smoothly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We may need to take the service offline for maintenance or updates without prior notice.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Give It Smaller and its operators are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of data, interruption of service, or any issues resulting from file compression. Always keep a backup of your original files.

Pricing

You can use the service at no cost or on a paid plan, and buy extra credits at any time. Current prices are on the Pricing page. We may change prices in the future; if we do, we will give reasonable notice, you can cancel before the change takes effect, and a change never affects credits you have already bought.

Credits and refunds

Credits you buy don’t run out over time while your account exists. We may correct a balance if credits were added by mistake.

You can cancel a credit pack within 14 days of buying it. We refund the price of the credits you haven’t used; if you have used 20% or less of the pack, we refund it in full. Each purchase is considered on its own. Credits we gave you at no cost and your monthly plan allowance are not refundable. To cancel or ask for a refund, contact us.

If you want to delete your account and still have credits you bought, contact us before you delete it and we will refund the price of your unused purchased credits. Credits left from your monthly allowance or given to you at no cost are not refunded. If we close your account for a reason other than a breach of these terms, we refund your unused purchased credits.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
